More Race Coaches at Alton Water

17 Apr 2010

We are delighted to announce that Ben Sharman, Chris Hart and Rosie Johnson have all recently qualified as Race Coaches.  This is a proud moment for them and very good news for members wishing to improve their racing skills as it means that they now join a small but growing group of members who are qualified and willing to help members to improve their racing skills.

The first members to benefit will be the ladies of AWSC.  We are holding a race training section for ladies on Saturday May 1st.  Ladies interested in joining this free session should please contact us.

Membership due 1st April - late payers

03 Apr 2010

Membership and where applicable, Dinghy Park fees were due to be paid by 1st April.  We have noted a very positive response to our request that fees be paid by this date.  Nevertheless, a minority of members have not yet paid and are therefore liable upon renewal, to a 20% surcharge.

For this first year of a more robust approach to membership payments collection, the Centre Manager and staff have been empowered by the Management Committee, to exercise some limited discretion in the application of this late payer surcharge policy in appropriate cases and providing the fees are received in the very near future.

Members, who have not yet paid their annual fees, are urged to take advantage of this one-off short period of discretion, to pay their membership dues.

AWSC, as an independent 'not-for-profit' organisation, needs certainty of revenue in order to continue with our accelerated investment programme that is designed to improve the services that we offer.  Most members have paid on time. If you have not paid yet, please take advantage of this limited period of grace to support the centre, play fair with your fellow members who have paid on time and to help us to continue with the exciting investment programme for the greater enjoyment of all our members.
