Frostbite Entries to Date

08 Jan 2017

A somewhat disappointing start to the Frostbite series today with racing postponed due to lack of wind.

However it gave those who turned up the chance to reacquaint themselves with Alton Water, complete registration and drop their boats off for storage.

Some competitors expressed a wish to see a list of entries, so fleet entries to date can be seen here.

Fingers crossed for good sailing conditions next Sunday when we hope to be able to sail 3 races back-to-back.

Radio controlled Sailing

08 Jan 2017

You may have noticed some smaller yachts appearing on the water. Alton water is a fantastic asset and it is good to see even more use being made of our water.

Dragon force radio controlled yachts are the fastest growing one design class of yacht and it provides fast close racing. They cost  very little an being one design racing is a test of skills rather than wallet size.

Alton Radio Controlled Sailing club is a new club for those who like to sail their boats whilst staying warm and dry on land. They are using these dragon force 65 yachts, as they are cheap, ready to sail out of the box, fast and fun boats. Usual yacht racing rules and tactics apply, why not have a look?

If there is enough interest they can arrange demo days, rigging and tuning tips and of course regular racing. Why not join the club and enjoy these brilliant boats. More info here
