Open Events

Alton Water provides the largest stretch of inland water in Suffolk, offering superb, testing and varied racing conditions. We have more than 1250 members, a Dinghy Park with aprrox. 450 slots (usually full!), an active all year round racing calendar, a long established, highly respected, RYA approved training centre that is the largest of its kind in the eastern region and a volunteer organised members Sailing Academy for race coaching skills. We welcome enquiries from associations who may be interested in staging events with us, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

On site facilities

We offer the following facilities for open events:

free and ample parking
free secure dinghy storage
free camping or motorvan (sorry, our lease does not permit caravans)
free wifi
free cyber cafe
free use of training room (subject to availability) with ceiling mounted high density data projector, large white board and free standing flip chart

and ...hot gushing showers!
