Dinghy racing at Alton Water

Alton Water enjoys a thriving dinghy racing scene right through the year.  All dinghy sailing members and their families are invited to join in our friendly, well managed race series.  The racing is competitive but good spirited.  We encourage members to race within the rules, while discouraging formal protests or post race hearings as we prefer friendly discussion and mutual learning rather than all out war! 

New to dinghy racing

We positively welcome those new to sailing or racing to join in and enjoy our racing activities.  We have many experienced and active racing members who are always glad to welcome you to our racing activities so don't be shy!  Contact us to ask for more information or to seek advice.  Alternatively, come and talk to our staff, they will be glad to introduce you to active racers or to one of our race management team so that you can learn more.

Race coaching

We offer RYA approved 'Start Racing' training courses which we encourage those wishing to start racing for the first time, to attend.  Alternatively you may prefer to have personal tuition from one of our qualified instructors.

Racing forum

The regular racers at Alton Water now run their own discussion forum.  If you are a member or are interested to keep up with discussion, opinion polling or racing expeditions being planned by the forum, they are always happy to hear from you.  To join them, just enter your email address in the yahoogroups forum enter box below. Please note that this forum is not maintained or controlled by Alton Water Sports Centre.
