About RYA ONBOARD

Alton Water is very pleased to be involved in OB (OnBoard), developed by the RYA and partnered by TEAMORIGIN (British Challenge for the 33rd Americans Cup) which is a long term programme to help introduce and retain young people in the sports of dinghy sailing and windsurfing.

First established at Alton Water in 2007 to encourage young people of between 8 to 18 years of age; our Alton Crusaders offers regular sessions of supervised club sailing.  Available for dinghy sailing and windsurfing, the sessions are open to members only (Youth membership is just £22 per year).

Cost:   £15 (includes all hire costs) per session   
Pre-entry requirements: RYA Level II

RYA Volvo Champion Club

Alton Water was awarded RYA Volvo Champion Club Status in spring 2009.  We are very proud to have been awarded this status as it both recognises the work that we do to prompt the sports of sailing and windsurfing with young people, while also unlocking additional RYA training assistance for young people at the club.
